coffee (liquid) spills

here’s what to do;

  • turn the machine off immediately.
  • remove the power cable, if attached.
  • remove excess liquid with paper towels.
  • turn the device upside down in a tent shape and put in a warm, dry place.
  • do not put it near a radiatior, do not use heat or a hair dryer to try and remove liquid this will only spread it around and heat up other sensitive components.
  • call your local IT repair service immediately.

dead battery or
suspect power issues

here’s what to do if your device is still alive;

  • keep your device connected to external power if possible
  • back up your files to an external hard drive, this is faster than cloud back up

  • remove the external power cable
  • do not attempt to open the back cover

  • do not repeatly try and turn it on, this can cause more problems
  • remove external power cables, do not try to use another power cable if it is not correctly rated for that output
  • do not attempt the repait by yourself without any anti-static protection
  • call your local IT repair service immediately
